In the first part of this blog I outlined some of the great benefits behind optimal omega-3 levels. Many other studies have shown omega-3’s to be essential in many other bodily functions, some additional ones include:

  • Increasing insulin sensitivity
  • Turning on genes that help you burn fat and off genes that increase fat storage
  • Increases serotonin in the brain that makes you feel good and takes away cravings
  • Reduction of pain and inflammation

Dr Lars Lindmark Omega-3 and Fish Oil Conference Part 1

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Dr Lars Lindmark Conference on lipids, aka fats. Asides from Dr Lindmark’s insanely poor jokes the conference contained some real gems of information that I wanted to share with you all. I have decided to split this blog up into two parts, this section being more of a review of the conference and key points/studies, in part two of the blog I will be offering practical ways that you can increase your omega-3 consumption and talk about products that I would recommend as there is a such a gulf in quality of fish oil out there and the wrong product can actually be harmful to the body.
