Online Exercise Class Schedule to help you through lockdown
In this article, I want to focus on exercise to support you through this challenging time and in particular this period of social distancing and isolation.
Astronaut Scott Kelly, who spent a year aboard the International Space Station said that creating a plan and structure to his day was one of the most important aspects of managing mentally and emotionally while in the ISS. If possible, exercise should become part of your daily plan, and between what I am able to offer with the online classes and what I will offer in another newsletter with pre-recorded exercises sessions and example exercise programs, I hope we can get the majority of abilities covered.
Exercise plays so many important functions and is certainly one of the foundational areas of health. Not only can it help us remain physically strong, supple, in shape and promote cardiovascular health, which is so important right now, it also helps us to manage our mental health as well.
I will continue to repeat this in future emails, but the goal with these emails, newsletters and articles I am creating at this time is to help people come out of this period of social distancing healthier than how they entered it, and this means supporting us physically and mentally. In doing so we can improve our immune health and resilience to infections and complications. It’s certainly not going to make you immune, but to focus on the things that are within your control is all you can do at this time.
So, in addition to getting outside and taking a stroll, run or ride in this amazing spring sunshine we are having, we have also put together an online exercise class timetable.
I want to give a special shout out and thank all of those exercise professionals that have agreed for us to be able to promote and offer their services which are largely free or ran on a low cost or donation only basis. We will be updating this timetable as I receive details from other exercise professionals that I know who are running online classes.
Below you will find a link to a PDF we have created with the online class schedule. We will continue to update this as we are able to offer further classes.
In a separate article and newsletter in the coming days I will be sending over some exercise sessions that you can do at any time. These will be pre-recorded exercises sessions that are generally 10-20 minutes long as well as some example exercise programs provided to me by a few more exercise professionals that I know, trust and have previously worked with.
Stay well, keep safe and keep moving ☺
