What is the Leaky Gut Test?

Key markers assessed include:

• Zonulin – Zonulin is a protein that helps control how tightly the cells of the gut lining are sealed. When zonulin levels rise, these tight junctions can loosen, allowing unwanted substances to pass into the bloodstream and potentially trigger inflammation or immune reactions.
• Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) IgA, IgG and IgM - IgA, IgM, and IgG are antibodies that help defend the body against harmful substances like lipopolysaccharides (LPS), toxins from certain gut bacteria. When these antibodies are raised, it can indicate that bacterial toxins are passing through a weakened gut barrier, triggering inflammation and immune activation.
