What does our Health Assessment Measure?
Our Health Assessment looks at around 75 crucial biomarkers for health, covering areas such as your full blood count, thyroid and sex hormones, inflammation and immune function, nutrient status, cancer risks, cardiovascular health and diabetes risk, metabolic syndrome and more.
When attending your blood test, you will also have basic physical measurements such as waist and hip as well as pulse and blood pressure measured.
Those attending in-clinic for your consultation also have the option of including our detailed body composition assessment.
Prior to your 1-2-1 session, we also gather data relating to your nutrition, lifestyle, symptoms and health history with our health questionnaires.
You can also tell us any specific goals you already have, and this provides a deeper context to the results.

Health Assessment FAQs
1. Who can benefit from our health assessment?
Our comprehensive health assessment is beneficial for anyone who wants to take a proactive approach to their health and well-being.
This includes:
- People who feel generally well but want to optimise their health and prevent future issues. People essentially looking for a bit of a health MOT.
- Those with concerns about their energy levels, weight management, sleep quality, or stress.
- Individuals with a family history of certain conditions who want to take early preventative measures.
- Those wanting to establish if they are at risk of common chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
- Those wanting more detailed and personalised interpretation of lab results based upon optimisation and not just being free from disease.
- Those wanting to establish baselines before embarking on making adaptations to their nutrition and lifestyle.
- Those looking to reassess after making sustained changes to their nutrition and lifestyle.
In essence, this assessment is valuable for anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of their body and take control of their health journey.
2. Do we offer other tests?
We do offer other health tests and on request we can typically add additional blood markers to your health assessment on request, depending on their availability with our lab partners.
Some tests that we offer through our extensive range of lab partners are only available to clients we are working with on a 1-2-1 basis. This includes clients that have already carried out an initial consultation with one of our practitioners.
Our specialist tests include gut health and microbiome analysis, SIBO testing, urine hormone and metabolic tests, nutrient assessments, salivary tests and so forth. More information on these tests can be provided by your practitioner when they are recommended to you.
3. Where can your health assessment be carried out?
There are two parts to your health assessment. Part one is the blood test, urinalysis and basic anthropometric measurements. These are carried out with one of our many partner clinics located throughout the UK.
A full list of those locations can be seen below:
- King's Road, London
- Kensington, London
- Great Portland Street, London
- St Paul's, London
- Chiswick, London
- Fulham, London
- Westfield Stratford, London
- Canary Wharf, London
- Croydon, London
- Birmingham
- Liverpool
- Manchester
- Chichester
- Glasgow
- Edinburgh
- Bluewater
- Cheltenham
- Swindon
- High Wycombe
The second part of your health assessment is the interpretation and consultation associated to your results. You have two options for this, either an online appointment, delivered over a video call or at our London clinic in Marylebone.
4. What should I do before my test?
Once you have selected and paid for your health assessment, we will send you a booking link so that you can arrange your blood test at the most convenient location and time for you.
We will then also liaise with you to book in your interpretation consultation with one of our expert test interpretation practitioners, whether in clinic or online.
Prior to your blood test, you will be sent specific instructions to follow to get the most out of your results. This includes details about fasting, exercise limitations before the test, information relating to supplements and medications prior to testing, hydration and so forth.
Our team is on hand to make this process as seamless as possible for you.
Michelle
“Steve Grant’s knowledge of functional medicine is outstanding. Some of the outcomes have been outstanding resulting in reduced hospital admissions and we are incredibly grateful. His considered approach, depth of knowledge, attention to detail, along with clarity & kindness make him a brilliantly effective guide.”
Jeremy
“I have been seriously impressed with Steve’s services. His detailed knowledge and advice on a wide range of issues has been outstanding. The results for me have been superb. Significant weight loss, much improved body composition, lower blood pressure, increased energy, less stressed and critically for a former cardiac patient reduced inflammation.”
Alex
“I was advised to switch up my nutrition and to follow a supplement protocol for 8 weeks which worked like a dream. I felt like a new person, my periods came back (and have been regular ever since) and I now sleep through the night most nights. I have also been able to get back to training, which as a personal trainer, is really important to me and my business.”
