Dairy Free Simple Custard
You can’t beat a good custard. This is really simple and easy to whip together if you have surprise guests.
Ingredients
- 300ml coconut milk
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tsp arrowroot
- 4 tbsp (80ml) maple syrup
Directions
- Heat the coconut milk in a small saucepan and add the vanilla bean paste. Heat until it begins to boil then take off the heat.
- In a bowl, mix together the yolks, arrowroot, and maple syrup then gradually mix in the milk a little at a time.
- Once all the milk is mixed in, add the mixture back into the pan and heat until it thickens.
