Duck and Plum Salad

Simple duck salad with sweet and savoury flavours.


  • Duck breasts: 2 (total around 280g)
  • Plums: 3, quartered
  • Honey: 1 tsp
  • Tamari sauce: 1 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds: 2 tsp
  • Mixed salad leaves: 80g


  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • In a hot frying pan, cook the duck breasts skin side down for 4 minutes until nice and brown, turn over and cook the bottom for 1 minute.
  • Place in a small roasting dish and cook in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
  • Leave to rest for 4 minutes before slicing.
  • In the same frying pan the duck was in, place in the plums and cook until caramelised.
  • Add the honey, tamari, and sesame seeds and mix gently.
  • Divide the salad leaves between 2 bowls and add the sliced duck.
  • Tip over the plums and juices and enjoy.
