About David

Specialising in Mindfulness and Meditation programmes for Mental and Emotional Health, Stress Management and Resilience, and Freedom from Addictive Behaviours.

Please meet David Behrens. I have been working with David since early 2017 both on a personal level and also someone who is supporting our clients on their health journeys.

David brings a wealth of expertise from nearly 30 years as a teaching monk at an international retreat site and school of yoga in India, where, in addition to years of personal meditation practice, he taught meditation retreats and studied eastern and yogic philosophies, ayurvedic medicine and nutrition. He is also an advanced practitioner of homeopathy.

We feel very privileged to have David working with our clients. Since 2007 when he transitioned from monastic life, David has been helping people apply meditation and mindfulness, which are ways of training and strengthening the mind, to improve mental and emotional well-being.

David has created mindfulness and meditation programmes for a number of areas, in particular:

  • Stress and Anxiety Management
  • Better Sleep
  • Healthy Relationship to Food and Nutrition
  • Freedom from Addictive Behaviours
  • Pain Management
  • Mindfulness and Meditation for Daily Life

Each programme (4-6 sessions) includes:

  • Focused guidance to help you create goals that support your health journey
  • In-depth one-to-one support to help clients establish a vibrant home meditation practice
  • Tools to practice mindfulness in the midst of busy everyday life
  • Training in the core practices of breath and mind-centering
  • Personalized written material, practices and mindfulness mp3 audio recordings to keep you motivated and support your goals

I have no doubt that a healthy mind supports and encourages a healthy body – a connection that should not be underestimated. Mindfulness and meditation are indispensable partners with Functional Medicine. As David says, “To be healthy in life is a multi-level experience. It’s mind, it’s body, it’s the emotional world. It’s spirit, it’s relationships, it’s all those aspects, and we have to take care of all those things.” A strong mind helps the physical body respond better to stressors and what life can throw at us; a less-stressed body can better maintain positive health changes and let go of unhealthy patterns.

David offers his services regularly for the NHS Recovery Colleges in Gloucestershire, part of the Treatment team for Charter Harley Street (London’s prestigious private outpatient rehab) and works with several psychologists and doctors in the London Chelsea area.

David is available for sessions with Steve Grant Health on alternating Wednesdays at our Marylebone Clinic on Crawford Street. To schedule a session or to enquire about working with David please fill out the contact form below.
